Description of Section

  • There are 2 accessible parking spaces, which are 100-200 feet away from the entrance

  • The pathway from these spaces to the entrance is smooth and level, and the curb ramps are accessible

Description of Section

This includes how easy it is to find the accessible entrance, steps/ramps/pathways from the curb ramp/sidewalk to the door, the maneuvering clearance of the door, width of entrance door, lip under the entrance door, presence of automatic door openers, reachability of the door handle, and the weight of the door.

Details

  • The entrance is a single, non-automatic door with maneuvering clearance on both sides of it

  • The door is not difficult to open force-wise, the clear width of the door is 32-34 inches, and the lip underneath the door is not difficult to navigate over

  • There are no steps or incline to the door, and the door handles/hardware at an accessible height

Table Service

Description of Section

This includes if customers GENERALLY have to go somewhere else besides their table to pay, order, get food, get drinks, or put away dishes. We also consider if an establishment has trays for transporting food/drinks.

Details

  • You have to go to a counter to order, pay, get your food, and get your drinks

  • The counter to order, pay, and get your food and some drinks is at an accessible height

  • The counter to get water, stirrers, cream, sugar, and drip coffee are not at accessible heights

  • There are not trays available for customers

  • You can leave dishes and trash at your table

Interior Pathways

Description of Section

This includes accessibility of lifts/ramps/elevators, signage to find accessibility features, widths of pathways, cleanliness of pathways, how steep pathways are, presence of inaccessible areas, and the weight/lip/height of handles & knobs of doors not covered by other sections.

Details

  • Almost all the pathways in the establishment besides between certain tables are at least 3 feet wide

  • There are no steep pathways or changes in level inside

  • All features are easily found

Description of Section

This includes the accessibility of tables (height of surface from floor and leg/foot room underneath, location of tables, and accessible seating and counter height at bar area.

  • There is accessible seating and tables located throughout the inside and outside areas of the establishment

Description of Section

This includes the reachability of merchandise, the availability of employees in the merchandise area, and the availability of bags with handles to help carry merchandise.

Details

  • Some merchandise could be considered difficult to reachable and/or too heavy, but there are employees around the merchandise area that are ready to help however they can

  • There are bags with handles available to carry merchandise around

Bathroom

Description of Section

This includes bathrooms being labeled as accessible, the width of bathroom and accessible stall doors, location of doors, height of door openers off the floor, weight of doors, presence of appropriate grab bars, the ability for a customer using a wheelchair to completely turn around in the bathroom/accessible stall, the height of the flush controls off the floor, the reachability of the sink/toilet paper/soap/drying equipment/lights, and the height of mirrors off the floor.

Details

  • The bathrooms have turning space and have the appropriate grab bars

  • The toilet paper could be considered difficult to reach from the toilet, and is on a movable rack which means it could be at varying distances from the toilet

  • The sinks, soap, and light switches are at accessible heights, but the drying equipment, hooks on the back of the bathroom doors, and mirrors are not

  • The bathroom doors have accessible features, except the maneuvering clearance to pull the door open to enter the bathroom on the left is less than 18” wide

Amenities

Description of Section

This includes the presence of accessibility features to make this establishment go above and beyond the accessibility of other establishments of the same type.

Details

  • There are plastic/paper lightweight cups, straws, and lids

  • There are bags with handles to carry leftovers home
